In today’s railway system sleepers and bearers are the main components limiting longer asset life in track. Furthermore, wooden and concrete sleepers are a major contributor to embodied carbon in track. Our mission is to only use materials that are made sustainably, don’t pollute, last longer and can be fully re-used or recycled, by installing sleepers made from recycled plastic waste material. In our presentation we will talk about the background and advantages of this technology, how it can help driving a strategy towards sustainability whilst providing significant cost savings to all infrastructure owners.
