Huge interest for Train & Rail at InnoTrans in Berlin

Hello there Monika Johannesen, project manager for Train & Rail, who visited InnoTrans in Berlin last week! 

What were you up to at the world’s biggest railway exhibition, InnoTrans?
– We had a delegation there and made conversations with exhibitors, interest organizations and the EU-commission.

How did the conversation with the exhibitors go?
– The experience at InnoTrans exceeded all of our expectations. The interest in Train & Rail was huge from suppliers from all around the world. We had nearly 200 deep conversations with different exhibitors, where we looked at hall plans for Train & Rail and talked about the possibilities with a railway exhibition in Stockholm.

– Ten of the biggest suppliers within the railway industry is already announced to the exhibition. In a short period of time we will present who is announced to exhibit at Train & Rail on our website.

What was the reaction from EU-commission?
– They see huge possibilities is created by having a railway exhibition in Stockholm during the year that Sweden is president country in EUs Council of Ministers.

Can you give examples on what advantages the exhibitors see with Train & Rail?
– That this is a possibility to meet both clients and decision makers within the Nordic region. But it´s also a unique chance for the people within the industry to meet. At InnoTrans for example, 60 precent of the exhibitors does business with each other and the same possibility is given at Train & Rail.

What was the most obvious trends at InnoTrans?

– Sustainability, both when it comes to the products but also around resource and carbon dioxide effective production. Even the cost effective transports and digitization is something everyone is talking about.

InnoTrans is the worlds biggest railway exhibit and is held in Berlin every two years.

” We came here to be inspired and find ideas for our own venue– Train & Rail. But we found much more than that. We have a lot of new bookings and contacts vwith us and look forward for an entertaining autumn when we fill the biggest exhibit for the Nordic – Train & Rail at Stockholmsmässan 25-27th April next year, says Monika Johannessen.
