The starting point is the growing need for an efficient and future-proof transport system that supports Sweden's import and export in the best possible way, especially considering the green transition. It is beyond doubt that Sweden needs all available means to build new infrastructure while investing record amounts in maintaining existing facilities. However, Sweden has recently actively declined multi-billion amounts from the EU that could provide us with more freight by rail, more night trains to Europe, and a modernized railway infrastructure for stronger regions and more reliable commuting. The seminar will discuss how Sweden can scale up, find new inspiration, and explore new avenues together with the EU.
