There is an ongoing shift in the rail sector from reactive responses to unplanned failures, to the desired data-driven holistic digital asset management, including e.g. just-in-time predictive maintenance of critical systems. With the help of a practical example Gerhard Paal will explain Digital Asset Management (DAM) which takes a holistic and digital representation of all the underlying systems and asset data, from rolling stock assets to the signaling technology, to the traction power supply, permanent way, control and the communication systems. How this system will enable mobility players to handle their assets and infrastructure intelligently, increase value over the entire lifecycle, guarantee asset availability and thereby enhance the passenger experience – also in Sweden.
